Team Member Spotlight: Anabel Aguilar

We are excited to spotlight one of our newest members to the RyeStrategy Team, Anabel Aguilar. She will be taking on the position of our Public Relations intern this summer and will be a key part in connecting our company to our stakeholders and spreading brand awareness.

She is obtaining a Marketing B.A. at the University of Iowa and looks forward to applying her skills and knowledge during this internship.

We had the opportunity to learn more about Anabel’s interest in the sustainability space and her role at RyeStrategy. Read on to learn more!

Why are you interested in the sustainability space?

I think it is crucial to pay attention to how businesses impact the environment and what they can do to protect it.

As someone who grew up learning about sustainability in school, I have seen how important it is for businesses to understand what their role is within the space. I have taken a business course that focused on a sustainability project. I needed to analyze their initiatives, setbacks, and opportunities in order to form recommendations to achieve their goals. I learned about changes that companies could implement that drastically improve their impact on the environment.

What are you currently working on at RyeStrategy?

I am new to the team this summer and have been working on researching local opportunities for RyeStrategy and writing posts for our social platforms. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the people I work with.

What recommendation or piece of advice would you give to someone wanting to make a difference in their company's sustainability journey?

I would recommend they research how sustainability initiatives would specifically impact the company they work for. I think finding examples within the same industry and discussing the journey through a business perspective can help motivate change.

What are your hobbies, and what’s one fun fact about yourself?

I spend many free nights either playing video games competitively, going to the gym, or taking long walks with my friends.

A fun fact about me is that I am taking on the Vice President position for my university’s Esports at Iowa student organization this fall.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I am looking forward to becoming a vital member of the RyeStrategy team this summer and building brand awareness!
