Recently retired University of Washington Adjunct Professor in Entrepreneurship, business owner and PR executive, Deb Hagen-Lukens is a seasoned communicator, consultant, startup mentor, and passionate advocate for environmental protection and sustainable innovation.

Over 13 years, Deb taught undergrad and graduate UW courses in environmental innovation and entrepreneurial marketing. Her career in public relations and marketing communications consulting spanned two international PR agencies and her own Seattle-based business, Clarity Communications Consulting, and included working with major brands in consumer packaged goods and high technology, startups in a wide range of industries from high tech to clean tech, and non-profits focused on housing, equity and the environment.

Deb’s spare time goes to mentoring startups, hiking trails, gardening to support pollinators and enjoying Seattle’s great music and theatre.
